To establish an L2TP server on a SMB VPN router, such as a TP-Link VPN router, follow these steps:
Log in to the router's web-based management interface.
Navigate to the "VPN" section and select "L2TP Server".
Enable the L2TP server and configure the authentication and encryption settings.
Set a range of IP addresses to be used for the L2TP clients.
Specify a username and password for the L2TP clients.
Save the settings and restart the L2TP server.
On the client side, configure the L2TP connection with the server's public IP address and the username and password that were specified on the router.
Connect to the L2TP server using the configured connection.
Note: Ensure that the firewall rules on the router are properly configured to allow the L2TP traffic. Also, it is recommended to use a more secure VPN protocol such as OpenVPN or IKEv2/IPSec.
