How to configure Session Limit and Bandwidth Control to control traffic on SafeStream routers

To configure Session Limit and Bandwidth Control to control traffic on TP-Link Safestream routers, follow these steps:

Log in to the web management page of your router.

Go to "Bandwidth Control" > "Session Limit".

Click "Add New" to create a new rule.

Enter the following information:

  • IP Range: Enter the IP range of the devices you want to apply the rule to.

  • Protocol: Select the protocol you want to control (TCP, UDP, or All).

  • Session Limit: Enter the maximum number of sessions per second you want to allow.

  • Description: Enter a name for the rule (optional).

Click "Save" to apply the changes.

Configure Bandwidth Control

To configure Bandwidth Control, follow these steps:

Go to "Bandwidth Control" > "Bandwidth Control".

Click "Enable Bandwidth Control" to turn on the feature.

Click "Add New" to create a new rule.

Enter the following information:

  • IP Range: Enter the IP range of the devices you want to apply the rule to.

  • Interface Type: Select the interface type you want to control (LAN or WAN).

  • Direction: Select the direction you want to control (Upload, Download, or Both).

  • Rate Limit: Enter the maximum bandwidth speed you want to allow in Kbps or Mbps.

  • Description: Enter a name for the rule (optional).

Click "Save" to apply the changes.

Note: Bandwidth Control can be used to limit the amount of bandwidth used by specific devices on your network. This can be useful when you want to prioritize certain devices or applications and prevent others from hogging the bandwidth.
