This article explains How to Configure PPPoE in HUAWEI HG8045A Router. Its management IP is 192.168.100.1.
Step 1 : Log in HUAWEI HG8045A Router
Open a web-browser (such as Microsoft Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox or Apple Safari). Enter the ip address of HUAWEI HG8045A Router : 192.168.100.1.
Account : root
Password : admin
If your router model is HG8546M, you can try the another password (user: telecomadmin / password: admintelecom).
Step 2 : PPPoE Setting on HUAWEI HG8045A router
Click "WAN" on the top menu. If you see a connection name already on the panel, edit it or delete it.
Tips : On this page ,you can configure WAN port parameters. The ONT (home gateway) uses a WAN port to communicate with upper-layer network equipment. Therefore, these parameters must be consistent between the ONT and the network equipment.
If there is not any connection name, click "New".
Encapsulation Mode : PPPoE, the user name and password are both provided by your ISP.
Click the "Apply" button to save your settings.
Experience sharing
Just passing by to register a case that happened to me, and maybe I can make it easier for someone with little experience in model HG8546M, like me. By using the password that comes in the product box (user: root - password: adminHW), I was unable to view some functions such as NEW on the WAN page. After accessing with the password (user: telecomadmin / password: admintelecom), I was able to view the options and thus change the settings.
