To establish a PPTP server on a SMB VPN router, such as a TP-Link VPN router, follow these steps:
Log in to the router's web-based management interface.
Navigate to the "VPN" section and select "PPTP Server".
Enable the PPTP server and configure the authentication and encryption settings.
Set a range of IP addresses to be used for the PPTP clients.
Specify a username and password for the PPTP clients.
Save the settings and restart the PPTP server.
On the client side, configure the PPTP connection with the server's public IP address and the username and password that were specified on the router.
Connect to the PPTP server using the configured connection.
Note: PPTP is an outdated and less secure VPN protocol. It is recommended to use a more secure VPN protocol such as L2TP/IPsec or OpenVPN. Also, ensure that the firewall rules on the router are properly configured to allow the PPTP traffic.
