How to configure Print Server on TD-W9970

To configure Print Server on TP-Link TD-W9970 modem router, follow these steps:

  1. Connect the USB printer to the USB port on the TD-W9970 router.

  2. Open a web browser and enter the IP address of the router (default IP address is 192.168.1.1) in the address bar.

  3. Enter your username and password to log in to the router's web-based management interface. The default username and password are usually "admin".

  4. Click on "Advanced Setup" from the left-hand menu and then click on "USB Settings".

  5. Click on "Print Server".

  6. Enable the "Enable Print Server" checkbox.

  7. Choose the type of printer that you have from the "Printer Type" drop-down menu.

  8. Enter a name for the printer in the "Printer Name" field.

  9. Click on the "Save" button to apply the Print Server settings.

  10. Install the printer driver on the computer that you want to use to print.

  11. Add a new printer using the "Add Printer" wizard in your operating system's settings.

  12. Choose "Network Printer" and select the TD-W9970 router from the list of available network printers.

  13. Choose the printer that you configured in step 8 from the list of available printers.

  14. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the printer installation process.

That's it! Your TD-W9970 modem router is now configured to use Print Server. This feature allows you to share a USB printer across your local network, enabling multiple computers to print to the same printer without the need for a separate print server device.
